VJ Day Remembrance Parade

On Thursday 15th August there will be a remembrance parade at the Burma Star Memorial, Poole Park.


If you have the time and can join other branch members in remembering those Royal Marines who served in the Far East, including 42 (Royal Marine) Commando which was raised in August 1943. After arduous training at Achnacarry, the unit was assigned to the 3rd Special Service Brigade and served in India and Burma taking part in operations in the Arakan and Assam, including a series of amphibious landings down the Burmese coastline

Remembering one of our own.

Presentation of the Japanese Flag by the Branch President, Maj Anthony Parker RM Rtd to the Branch Chairman, Geof Haywood.


The flag was acquired in September 1945 when the Japanese Garrison at Penang in North West Malaya surrendered to a party of Royal Marines led by Lt Anthony Parker RM.
